As a leading technology company, we believe that advancing students’ achievements in STEM education now will contribute to the economic development of our communities and the success of our industry in the future. One of the ways we support STEM education is through textbook donations, which increase students’ access to required class materials.

Our textbook donation program in Korea started in 2013, with the goal of providing key textbooks for semiconductor-related classes to local universities. The donations directly help students by removing the economic burden of costly books and help increase students’ awareness of the opportunities in the industry.

This year, books were distributed in March at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and most recently at Seoul National University. In addition to the donation program, Lam experts also gave a talk to share knowledge and inspire interest in semiconductors amongst the students.

Lam Research Taiwan has also started a similar program, giving textbooks to National Chiao Tung University for one of its many materials science classes. Lam executives were on hand during the distribution, which took place before class.

We hope our small contributions enhance students’ education and support the longterm growth of the semiconductor industry.
