At Lam, we are passionate about sharing our success and inspiring the next generation of innovators. As a leading equipment supplier in the semiconductor industry, we encourage students to pursue STEM education and engage in activities that give young people visibility into careers in the technology ecosystem.

Catch a glimpse of the recent ways we shared our passion for science, technology, engineering, and math with our community.

Sparking STEM Interest Early Among Students

In January, we partnered with ChildFund Korea to host the ‘Hello Coding Camp’ in Korea. 20 students from Seongnam City Children’s Center joined us to play with future technology, experience professional jobs at the Korea JobWorld, and participate in a coding training program.

We hope that we cultivated students’ creative talents and inspired the minds that will power our future technologies.

Promoting Diversity in the STEM Pipeline

In recognition of Black History month, Lam’s inclusion and diversity group, Community of Latinos and African Americans for Student Success (C.L.A.S.S.), hosted 60 young adults from the Bay Area’s African American and Latino communities for the CuBu or ‘See You Be You’ technology tour. By showing students professionals who look like them, we hope to have fostered the creative imaginations of our youth.

Supporting Students’ Next Steps in Higher Education

Tenth grade is marked as an important year in a student’s academic career in India. With national and state board exams following the completion of this grade, this milestone is instrumental to a student’s college admissions and field of study. To energize and motivate students for these exams, our India campus hosted 30 young adults from the Shri Sharada Vidya Mandira School in early February. A tour of a nearby science museum and a visit to the Lam campus provided special insights to careers in STEM.

Engineering the Future with Girls in STEM

In March, our Fremont campus welcomed more than 50 girls in recognition of Women’s History Month. Lam employees showed the students around campus and took part in activities including a robotics tour, a building project, and a new college graduate panel.

Now, in its third year, Girls and STEM Shadow Day continues to provide students with exposure to a wide range of workplace experiences in a fun and engaging way.
