What’s left after the relatively easy semiconductor manufacturing issues have been solved? The wicked hard problems – including things like scaling transistors down to 5 nm, reducing power dissipation from interconnects, and designing processes to use new materials in complex, three-dimensional structures. Professionals from across the industry will gather at SEMICON West to discuss these challenges along with the latest technologies and trends. The annual tradeshow, held this year July 12-14 in San Francisco, will feature more than 100 hours of technical and business programs, exhibits, and special programs for students.

Tim Archer, Lam’s Chief Operating Officer, will join other industry leaders on the Keynote Stage for the “CONNECT” Executive Summit. Panelists will discuss realigning business models, strategies, and technologies to meet current and future challenges. Gary Bultman, senior vice president of Strategic Development, will be a panelist at the Silicon Innovation Forum, a program that  highlights the innovators of tomorrow. You can also hear from our Chief Technology Officer, Dave Hemker, who will facilitate discussion of technology innovations that may enable future integrated circuit manufacturing during the “Pathfinding Beyond 5 nm” session of the Advanced Manufacturing Forum.

Lam is proud to be a premier sponsor of the show, which plays a key role in encouraging interaction and collaboration across the semiconductor ecosystem. We are a gold sponsor of the Women in Technology Forum, which will explore the changing workplace environment, as well as a sponsor of University Day, where students interested in starting a career in this exciting field can chat with Lam and other representatives about opportunities. In addition, our technical experts will be participating in several technical sessions. A summary of our participation throughout SEMICON West is shown below.
