Lam President and CEO Martin Anstice shared his thoughts on semiconductor process equipment demand, customer engagement, and the industry during a live interview with Jim Cramer at the CNBC Mad Money studio in New York City.
As Cramer said in his opening comments, “Chipmakers are transitioning to a new generation of smaller semiconductors found in virtually every electronic device…, which means they need to upgrade to the next generation of machinery constantly, and that’s where Lam comes in.”
To help anticipate this demand for capital equipment, Lam focuses on identifying technology inflections and engaging with customers, Anstice explained. “We don’t have the crystal ball, but we have an ability to dialog with customers in fundamental research, in concept and feasibility evalutions of equipment, and help work through incredibly complex transitions for them.”
