The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will host “Lam Day at MIT” at their Cambridge, Mass., campus on September 19, 2014. This all-day event is being organized in conjunction with MIT’s Microsystem Technology Lab (MTL), an interdepartmental laboratory that supports research in the areas of circuits and systems, MEMS, electronic and photonic devices, and nanotechnology.
Representatives from Lam’s Corporate Technology Development group, Global Products group, and College Relations will be on hand to interact with graduate students as well as members of the faculty and research staff. The day’s events will provide the opportunity for a technical exchange between Lam and MIT and for students to learn more about our company.
Speakers will include MIT’s Professor Jesus del Alamo, who will provide an overview of MTL activities, and Dr. Dave Hemker, Lam’s senior vice president and chief technology officer, who will present on “Plasma Etch in the Era of Atomic Scale.” There will also be an afternoon poster session with material presented by Lam technologists and MIT graduate students. “Lam is pleased to be a member of the MTL at MIT, and we value the collaboration with the professors and the great talent pool of students. It is a world-class university research center that helps us keep abreast of some of the latest innovations in emerging semiconductor technologies,” said Dr. Hemker.
“Lam has been a corporate member of the MTL for over 10 years, contributing equipment to the MTL facility and participating in numerous MTL activities,” said Dr. William Holber, MTL’s associate director for Industrial Relations. “Lam Day at MIT provides an ideal opportunity for information exchange between two great organizations which will only deepen the ties between MIT and Lam,” he added.
For students interested in learning more about a career at Lam, our College Relations team will also be at MIT’s Fall Career Fair on September 19.
