Children took over some key areas of our operations this summer during family days. Youngsters could be seen roaming the halls, working in labs, spinning in office chairs, and learning their way around the office. Catch a glimpse of the four family celebrations below.
Enthusiastic youngsters paraded through our Fremont and Livermore, California, campuses in August for Bring Our Children to Work Day 2018. Hundreds of employees showed their children around campus and took part in activities including a clean room tour, a block building project, and a talk from Audrey Charles, our senior vice president of HR and the event’s executive sponsor.
Now, in its fourth year, Bring Our Children to Work Day continues to provide our children with exposure to a wide range of workplace experiences in a fun and engaging way.
Family day turned into family month for Lam Research India. With the download of an exclusive app titled War of Champions, employees engaged in a month-long contest of puzzles and treasure hunts leading up to Family Day.
July 21 marked Lam Research India’s annual Family Day. Employees and their families gathered at the Manipal County Resort in Bangalore for an evening filled with magic, dance, karaoke, and music. Performances included an aerial dance act, laser dance, and some performances by employees.
Parades of enthusiastic family members walked through Lam Research Manufacturing Korea in May and Lam’s Korea Dongtan office in June for the annual Open House event. Now in its second year, Fun Makers, an employee group focused on organizing activities, welcomed employees and their families to the campus.
Magic shows, family motto writing, and VR experiences were some of the activities provided. The most popular activity was the training center tour, which helped families better discern semiconductor equipment and their application.
One child said, “It was a good time to see for myself the semiconductor equipment that I’ve known vaguely. I was able to better understand the work my father does as an engineer.”
A STEM inspiration studio, disguised as the FUTURE bus, made a stop at the Tualatin, Oregon, campus on August 22. Packed with electronics, the FUTURE bus invited employees and their families to explore STEM education through interactive activities. Participants built electrical circuits, designed robots, and explored 3D printing on the vehicle.
Thank you to all the employees who shared their family with us for these celebrations. We hope that we’ve inspired the next generation of engineers!
